The Plant at Kyle | Austin Wedding Photographer

When two architects fall in love, you can expect their wedding to be a true work of art—and Katharina and Adam’s day was exactly that.

Set against the backdrop of the Texas Hill Country, where Katharina grew up, their celebration was an unforgettable blend of thoughtful design and personal touches. As a wedding photographer in Austin (and a hill country native) I never fail to be amazed at the incredible celebrations my couples craft. This day truly reflected who they are as a couple: creative, down-to-earth, deeply rooted in their people and their place. Not to mention, it was just such a fun day!

While their ceremony took place at St. Martin De Porres, a charming Catholic Church, the heart of the celebration came alive at The Plant at Kyle.

This stunning, award-winning architectural space was the perfect canvas for a couple who knows design inside and out. While they soaked up the open Texas skies and green fields, they got to celebrate into the night with their friends and family.

What made this day especially remarkable was how much of it was lovingly crafted by hand. Katharina poured herself into the details: from her custom-made wedding dress and shoes to the sticker favors she designed (I still have one proudly displayed on my water bottle!). She even made the swimsuit she changed into for the epic end-of-night pool jump. We can’t forget Adam, either- he made the cakes and family helped decorate them. All those touches just brought an extra layer of magic to the day.

Their day went off without a hitch, and friends and family played a huge role in bringing everything together. The whole event felt like a community effort, tied together by the expert coordination of Always a Bridesmaid. There was a kind of intimacy to the chaos—laughter, hustle, stories being shared while the kids ran & laughed, It was the kind of wedding that didn't just look beautiful; it felt like home.

As an Austin wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to weddings that speak to the couple’s essence—and this one did, from beginning to end. Every corner of The Plant at Kyle told a story: wildflowers spilling out of vintage vases, the piñata the bride and groom broke for the kids, dancing that kicked off the reception after dinner, and never really stopped. It was bold, joyful, colorful, and completely personal.

By the time the gorgeous sunset faded into night over the Plant at Kyle, everyone had danced the night away and was ready for a dip in the pool- a delightful ending for Katharina & Adam’s wedding!
